Hiking Food
Before the hike:
- Drink tons of water so it lasts for the day. I drink 1L when I wake up.
- Eat breakfast: I usually go for protein heavy breakfast to keep me going for the day. Here are my go to vegetarian options:
- Smoothy: milk, peanut or almond butter, banana
- Eggs with cheese
- I make coffee for the road. I find that if I don’t drink coffee in the morning I have headaches on the hike.
Bring with you:
- WATER 2-3L
- Protein bars: I like Power Crunch Protein Bars
- Unsalted nuts: almonds, cashews, macadamia etc.
- Sub: cheese, avocado, tofu, lettuce/spinach etc.
- Biscuits: BelVita Breakfast Energy
- Jerkies: I like SMOKED SALMON MAPLE from Epic as it is soft to eat
- Hot tea in thermos. I never bring but sometimes when is really cold, I wish I did.
