Hiking Gear
Below is the list of gear that I have/use and optimized over time. This list will constantly update with new or replaced items if I find better ones.
Lower Body:
- Boots:
- High ankle: Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots – Women’s (Good sturdy boots for any type of hikes. If you have narrow feet try La Sportiva brand.)
- Low ankle: La Sportiva Synthesis Mid GTX Hiking Shoes – Women’s (Good for summer hikes and trail running. Although I hate the laces, need to change them somehow with normal ones)
- Pants: 3 pairs:
- Waterproof:
- Underpants:
- Hiking pants:
- Socks: liner Fox River X-Static Liner Socks, wool: low ankle SmartWool PHD, high ankle SmartWool PHD
- Gaiters for snow/rain or river crossing: Black Diamond GTX FrontPoint Gaiters
Upper Body:
- 1 t-shirt: summer (ODLO cooling and UPF 25 sun protection)
- 1 long sleeve base layer (more on base layers here)
- 1 fleece jacket
- 1 puffy jacket: Women’s Ghost Whisperer Down Hooded Jacket – From my research you need to find something over 800-fill insulation to resists moisture and maintains warmth.
- 1 shell jacket: Marmot Starfire Jacket – Women’s – I’m really happy with it, won’t change it.
Accessories
- Backpack:
- Day packs: Osprey Talon 33L
- Backpacking:
- Rain cover: Osprey Raincover
- Poles: TRAIL TREKKING POLES – WOMEN’S. (I don’t recommend foldable poles as they are less resistant).
- Water: Platypus Hoser 2.0L Reservoir I need to change with insulated one.
- Gloves: 2 pairs (thin & thick)
- Hat:
- Scarf: Buff Headwear and Scarf (summer);
Other accessories:
- Kleenex,
- hand warmer,
- Head lamp: Black Diamond Storm Headlamp
- Sun glasses (very important on the snow),
- First aid kit (one person)
- Moleskin, duct tape, safety pin, antiseptic wipes (foot care kit, how to treat blisters)
- Swiss knife.
- Seat pad
- Note: Have in double: Extra pair of socks, under-layers (if you get sweaty).
